But first, our history: A New York Rendezvous
Meg came from Connecticut; Ryan, from California.
Competitive dancing brought Meg to New York City for the first time. By age 12, she had become the best tap-dancer in Connecticut. Her dancing skills also landed her with a job as Bugs Bunny! College arrived and Meg followed in her Grandfather's footsteps to Bryant University, where she studied Sociology and Communications. Following College, she envisioned herself in New York City once more, and locked down a job in advertising in 2010.
3000 miles away, Ryan was graduating from San Jose State University in California. He grew up in Bakersfield, and took a few trips to New York City in his teens - complete with food tours to establish his family's favorite restaurants John's Pizza & Rocco's. Studying Advertising in college, New York was a natural fit for Ryan's future. Ryan decided to move to New York in 2011. The job he found proved highly serendipitous: Meg was a client.
On an April afternoon at the New York Yacht Club, Ryan happened to be sitting next to Meg at an industry luncheon. Meg made quite the impression on him. He created an event (for the client they shared) at the Yacht Club later that year, and she showed up! The conversation went like this:
Ryan: "Hey there, Meg - We should hang out outside of work"
Meg: "Why, yes! You should take my number"
Sales had taught Ryan to call. He called - left a voicemail - and set up the First Date at the Village Vanguard.
The date of the Date? 12/5. Miraculous!
The next 3 dates were Trivia (team name: Eel Fishing) up at Bar Thalia on 96th street.
On that third date, 12/23, Ryan had to make the move (the Mayan Calendar was ending soon, could have been the end of the world).
Ryan and Meg had the most EPIC FIRST KISS EVER, in the 96th street subway station.
A trip to Boston later (for which Meg consulted her office on whether she should go or not (rightfully so, Ryan could have been a crazy guy!) Meg and Ryan became a couple on 1/14.
We had gone from Amsterdam, through Belgium & Lille to arrive in Paris for the 'Big Show'. All the while, Ryan held in his messenger bag the ring for Meg.
Meg was oblivious - there was no way Ryan could bring a ring halfway around the world and remain so calm! It was all part of Ryan's plan.
Ryan set up the GoPro in front of the Eiffel Tower, much like he had done in front of other monuments all trip. Except this time, instead of jumping up and clicking his heels, he got down on one knee..

How lucky are we? Not only to have found each other, but to have so many amazing people in our lives. We want to thank you - all of our friends and family - for making our lives so sunny & full every day.
To our parents - Linda, Mike, Elizabeth - thank you for all of your support & talents as we plan our day and build the foundation for our marriage. This is an incredible experience, and it makes it even better to have you so close to our sides, if not in distance, in heart.
To the generations of love before us including Meg's grandparents, Lloyd & Nancy, and Ryan's maternal & paternal grandparents, Betty & Harris, Rosemary & Jack - you are always in our hearts. We miss & love you.
To our bridal party who are, in our opinion, the bees knees and have made every event epic and special.
